About brake oil
Brake oil is generally also called brake fluid. Its function is to
dissipate heat, prevent corrosion and rust, lubricate and transfer
energy. In daily use, all parts of the car will be lost, and the
brake oil is no exception. Therefore, after using for a certain
period of time, the brake oil needs to be replaced. How often
should the brake oil be replaced? Under what circumstances should
the brake oil be replaced?
Brake oil is also called brake fluid, because now our brakes are
hydraulic. Hydraulic pressure must have liquid, and brake oil is
this kind of liquid. If the brake oil is not changed for a long
time, because the brake oil is a high concentration liquid and has
strong adsorption to the water in the air, the brake performance of
the vehicle will be affected when the brake oil adsorbs the water.
When we step on the brake, the brake pad and brake disc will
produce high temperature, and the temperature of the brake cylinder
will increase accordingly. Because the water does not have high
temperature resistance and compressibility, Water vapor will be
generated when encountering high temperature. If the brake oil is
not changed for a long time, more and more water will be absorbed
in the air. Therefore, abnormal phenomena will occur when braking,
and even brake failure will occur.
How often? 40000 kilometers or two years! In fact, how long does
the brake oil change? Like car maintenance, there is a fixed time
limit. One is that when the mileage reaches 40000 km, it should be
replaced. At the same time, if more than two years, it is also
necessary to replace the brake oil. Whichever comes first is the
standard. Of course, there are occasional situations. During
specific driving, you should always observe whether the brake oil
alarm indicator flashes and whether the performance of the alarm
sensor is good. When the brake oil is insufficient, you should add
it in time, and the stored brake oil should be kept between the
calibrated minimum capacity scale and the maximum capacity scale.
If the brake oil is not changed when it is due, the brake can stop.
That's because the intensity of braking is not strong at ordinary
times, driving is not fierce, there is no repeated emergency
braking, and there is no long-term braking on long downhill
sections. Therefore, I think there is no problem with braking.
After the brake oil fails, it is not that there is no brake, but
that the brake limit is reduced. Originally, the brake still has
good braking performance after stepping on the brake for 10
minutes. Now, the braking performance may be reduced after stepping
on the brake for 2 minutes. The original braking distance was 40
meters, but now it may be 42 meters, which is the consequence of
brake oil failure.
The second is: in normal driving, if the speed exceeds 80km / h,
take emergency braking measures immediately. The owner obviously
felt that the braking distance was longer than before. If the
factors of brake pad and brake disc are excluded, there can only be
a problem with the brake, which also needs to be checked or
replaced. The braking system is extremely important and should not
be sloppy at all.
The third situation is that when you step on the brake, you will
feel light and heavy, which is very difficult to control. In
particular, when you brake gently, you basically can't feel that
the speed has decreased, and when you step on the brake deeply, you
don't feel very down-to-earth and very unstable. The repairman
suggested that this situation shows that the water content in the
brake oil may have exceeded 2.5%, and the water content is too
high. Frequent stepping on the brake will turn the water in the
brake oil into steam due to the high temperature, and a large
number of bubbles will remain in the brake oil, which will lead to
unstable braking and difficult to control. In this case, it is also
necessary to replace the brake oil in time.
Therefore, no matter how we feel these subtle changes, and combined
with the mileage of the car, when it comes to the life cycle of the
brake oil, we can change it as soon as possible. After all, the
brake is a very important safety system, and there is no need to
worry about waste and delay. After all, there is only one life.
