Check the brake disc
Before trimming the brake disc surface, it is necessary to check whether its thickness is allowed to be trimmed and whether the trimmed thickness is still greater than the minimum allowable value. If one or more of the following conditions are met, replace the brake disc.
Thickness deviation exceeds maximum tolerance
Severe corrosion / rust or pitting
Cracking or charring
Severe blue burning
The scratch depth on the brake disc surface exceeds the maximum allowable specification

Diagnosis and troubleshooting of common faults of brake disc

NO.1
Appearance: blue and dark spots appear in some areas of the brake disc, which is a sign of local overheating of the brake disc.
Cause: excessive hub runout. The uneven contact between the brake disc and the brake pad produces excessive swing, resulting in local heating and then bluing.
Impact: noise and vibration increase gradually.

Solution:Correct the hub runout and ensure that the hub runout is within the correct tolerance

Appearance: uneven wear of brake pads. One side of the brake pad is severely worn, while the other side is slightly worn.
Cause: the brake caliper is stuck. The brake pad on one side continuously rubs with the brake disc, causing the brake pad to wear to the metal back plate. The side where the metal backing plate rubs against the brake disc will be severely scratched, while the other side of the brake disc and the brake pad are almost in a new state.
Impact: continuous harsh noise and vibration will be generated, and the braking efficiency will be reduced. When the vehicle is braking, there will be imbalance, causing the vehicle to deviate

Solution: Please check, replace or repair the brake caliper. If necessary, replace the brake pads and discs

Appearance: the wheel hub surface is very dirty and / or rusty.
Cause: when installing the brake disc, the dirt on the wheel hub surface will lead to the deviation of the installation position of the brake disc, resulting in irregular contact between the brake pad and the brake disc surface, and uneven wear of the brake disc.
Impact: the deviation of brake disc thickness will lead to the swing of brake disc surface, resulting in noise and vibration. With the continued use of brake discs, this impact will gradually increase.

Solution: Please remove the brake disc and carefully clean the dirt or rust on the surface of the wheel hub and brake disc. Check the hub surface for deformation or other damage. Replace and tighten the brake disc according to the tightening torque and sequence recommended by the manufacturer.

Appearance: the contact position between the brake disc and the wheel hub is broken or deformed.
Cause: over tighten the brake disc and fail to tighten the brake disc according to the tightening torque and sequence recommended by the manufacturer.
Effect: cracks occur at the contact position between the brake disc and the wheel hub. Complete failure of braking.

Solution: Thoroughly inspect the brake system and its associated components. Replace all faulty parts, install new brake discs, and tighten the brake discs according to the tightening torque and sequence recommended by the manufacturer.
